Quite attractive onthe whole and in about very good condition. Framed and matted. Not examined outof frame. An attractive, colorful, and action-filled poster for one of the many"Wild West" shows that were formed in the wake of Buffalo Bill Cody'ssuccess. The Buffalo Ranch Real Wild West Show was formed around 1910 andproduced shows filled with spectacle, as evidenced by this poster, whichpromises a show "unparalleled in daring and desperate deeds" and"history blended with pleasant instruction for all the people of theland." In the upper portion of the poster is a scene of a man armed onlywith a knife, battling a charging bull, advertised as "the real Mexicansteer contest throwing lassoing & riding the bull." In the backgroundis an illustration of man with one foot on a galloping horse and the other footon a charging bull. Other illustrations show "home life of the AmericanIndian," Indians bearing rifles riding horses, a woman brandishing a whipand riding a buffalo, the "Royal Mexican Guard" on a line of horses, and "a Congress of American Cowgirls." An attractive poster for alittle-remembered Wild West show, and a fine example of the "West of theImagination.
