Description
Carl Conrad set up C. Conrad & Co in 1878 to market a beer he patented & named after the town of Budweis in Bavaria, home of the best beer he had ever tasted. It became the Budweiser we know today. Conrad was friends with Adolphus Busch (who actually made and bottled the beer), with Conrad in charge of sales. But his CC&Co went bankrupt in 1883--rumored to be due to the cost of bottles not returned--and Busch acquired the rights to Budweiser. This is an opportunity for you to own one of these first, rare bottles. It is a beautiful greenish-blue hue and heavy, with lots of bubbles consistent with old glass, and it stands 9-1/2" high. Wording reads "C. CONRAD & CO.'S ORIGINAL BUDWEISER, U.S. PATENT No. 6376." The CC&Co logo appears on bottom of the bottle. This bottle has no damage and would make a great addition to any collection. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
